David Terk, CPA, graduated from University of Maryland in 1994, with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and shortly thereafter earned a Certified Public Accountant license in the State of New York, where he spent three years in public accounting.
David has been a full-time financial trader since 1997, when he began to develop day trading and fundamental value equity trading strategies. Since then David has obtained his Series 7 – General Securities Representative, Series 27 – General Financial Operations Principal, and Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law securities licenses, as well as Series 3 – Futures and Commodities license.
David has traded currencies and commodities at the institutional level for a firm that specialized in developing automated black box technology trading strategies. In 2008 he earned the CTA designation and operated as a Commodity Trading Advisor, offering a variety of professional market analysis and trading services to other traders and investors and has written educational classes on trading instruction to aspiring professional traders and consumers. His comprehensive knowledge of the currency markets and how they impact the equity markets has allowed him to develop a solid and disciplined approach to analyzing companies and their global opportunities.
Today, David runs the Spectrum Planning Group office in Melville, NY and manages the individual equity portion of our clients’ portfolios. He tailors the investments to the needs of the clients using multiple strategies that build upon his years of experience. These strategies include US and foreign stocks, equity index and commodity related Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and various option strategies.
